A copper nickel or Cu-Ni elbow has moderate strength and is commonly seen in marine saltwater applications. A Copper Nickel Elbow is a common fitting in the industry that is used to change the direction of the flow in the piping system. These elbows are designed at different angles to suit specific requirements. They are available in 70/30 and 90/10 commercial specifications. The Cuni 70/30 Elbow possesses superior strength and can withstand higher velocities in seawater. They possess good resistance due to the higher amounts of iron and manganese. A Copper Nickel 90/10 Elbow is more common in the industry as it is available at lower costs. These elbows provide good service in harsh environments. The Cunifer 30 degree elbow is used to change the direction of the flow of media by 30 degrees. These elbows have superior quality and require low maintenance. A Copper Nickel 60 degree elbow is generally cut from a 90 degree angle elbow. These elbows can change the flow efficiently by 60 degree turn. The Cupro Nickel 90 degree elbow is a vertical elbow that is common in different pipeline systems. These elbows are convenient to suit different structural and construction applications. A Cuni 45 degree elbow is also a common elbow that is mounted between two pipes to change the direction of flow by 45 degrees. These elbows produce less friction and are smoother than 90 degree elbows.

UNS 7060x Elbow has good anti-fouling properties and can be availed in either equal or reducing sizes. The versatile DIN 86090 Elbow has good corrosion and erosion-resistant properties. The elbows are designed based on their radius of curvature. A Copper Nickel Long Radius Elbow has a radius of curvature which is 1.5 times that of the outside diameter of the pipe. These elbows are the most common in the industry. The Copper Nickel Short Radius Elbow, on the contrary, has a radius of curvature that is equal to the outside diameter of the pipe grade. A Copper Nickel Pipe Bend is similar to an elbow and has a larger radius of curvature than an elbow.

The Yield Strength of Copper Nickel 90 Degree Elbow is 15000 psi (103 MPa). The Chemical Composition of these elbows are Cu 71.25-76.5, Fe ≤ 0.20, Pb ≤0.050, Mn ≤ 1.0, Ni 23.5-26.5 and Zn ≤ 1.0. Cupro Nickel Buttweld Elbow is used in various industries like petrochemical plants, fertilizer plants, LNG plants, thermal power stations, chemical refineries, offshore platforms, etc. 90/10 Copper Nickel Navy Butt Weld 90º Elbow has a Tensile Strength (annealed) of 52000 psi (359 MPa) and it has a Tensile Strength (rolled-H04 for flat products/hard drawn-H80 for tubing) of 78000 psi (538 MPa). Cupro Nickel Elbows chemical composition is that of 90% copper and 10% nickel. And most of these commercial alloys contain iron, manganese and tin, so as to enhance specific properties of these alloys. Cast alloys also have silicon and niobium present in them. Elbows made from copper nickel are in big demand because of their resistance to pitting, their resistance to corrosion and their anti-fouling properties. As such, elbows made from copper nickel are used in various applications in industrial condensers, power installations, offshore drilling piping systems, evaporating equipment, heat exchangers and fabrication.
